Joey Chestnut Gorged Himself to Victory at Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest
Bertoletti Takes Men's Title with Chestnut Out
Sudo Dominates Women's Division, Sets New Record
Joey Chestnut may have been absent from this year's Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, but that didn't stop Patrick Bertoletti from devouring 63 hot dogs and buns to claim the men's title.
Bertoletti's victory marked the first time since 2014 that Chestnut had not been crowned champion. The 14-time winner was sidelined with an injury, giving Bertoletti his chance to shine.
Meanwhile, in the women's division, Miki Sudo reclaimed her title by eating 40 hot dogs and buns, setting a new record for the most hot dogs consumed by a woman in the contest's history.
The annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest is a highlight of the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The contest is held at Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York, and attracts thousands of spectators.
