Malaysia's Hunt for Olympic Gold Continues
Azizulhasni Awang, Mohd Shah Firdaus Sahrom Crash Out of Keirin Final
Malaysia's quest for an Olympic gold medal in track cycling remains unfulfilled after Datuk Azizulhasni Awang and National track cyclist Mohd Shah Firdaus Sahrom crashed out of the men's keirin final in Paris.
Sahrom was relegated from the race after causing a crash in the final lap, while Azizulhasni was unable to finish due to the incident.
The trio of Azizulhasni, Sahrom, and Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri were Malaysia's only hopes for a gold medal in track cycling at the Paris Olympics.
With Azizulhasni and Sahrom out of the running, Mohd Shah Firdaus Sahrom is now the last man standing for Malaysia in the men's track cycling events.
