Gavin Brindley Named Big Ten Player of the Year

A stellar season for the Michigan forward

Brindley's impressive stats

Sophomore forward Gavin Brindley has been named the Big Ten Player of the Year after a standout season with the University of Michigan ice hockey team.

Brindley led the conference in scoring with 21 goals and 29 assists in 36 games. He also ranked among the top 10 in the NCAA in both goals and assists.

In addition to his offensive production, Brindley was also a key contributor on the defensive side of the puck. He finished the season with a plus-minus rating of +19.

Brindley's impact on the team

Brindley's contributions helped lead Michigan to a share of the Big Ten regular season championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

The Wolverines finished the season with a record of 22-11-3 and earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Brindley is the first Michigan player to be named the Big Ten Player of the Year since Mike Comrie in 2001.
